MISSIONS 

Since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:2 NLT
​​​​
  1. Past. Produce one page summary paper from one of the books from the Missions reading list. ​​​
  2. Present. Conduct interviews during class time (via Skype, FaceTime, etc.) with workers currently serving around the world. 
  3. Future. Take part in a small group interactive learning experience (called PODs) designed to help people discover if their role in missions is as a supporter or goer.   ​​

APOLOGETICS 

If someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. I Peter 3:15-16a NLT

  1. Write one page summary brief from books on the Apologetics reading list. ​
  2. Write one page position brief on issues impacting the Christian faith. 
  • Biblical issues. The reliability and formation (canon) of Scripture. 
  • Scientific issues. Evolution vs. creation. 
  • Philosophical issues. The existence of God, the dilemma evil and suffering. 
  • Cultural issues. The role of women, issues of abortion, and sexual identities. 
  • Religions. Mormonism, Jehovah Witness, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Spiritism, Confucianism, Catholicism. 
  • World views. Humanism, secularism, atheism. 
  • Salvation. The evidence and importance of the resurrection. 
  • Thinkers, and influencers: CS Lewis, Francis Schaefer, Os Guinness, The Veritas Forum, Josh McDowell, Lee Strobel, Ed Stetzer, others. 

THEOLOGY

Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Hebrews 6:1 NLT


  1. Take part in small group interactive studies (Foundation Studies) that deepen understanding of the basic beliefs of the Christian faith.
  2. Produce summary briefs of the most important verses, people and events from every book of the Bible.
  3. Produce summary briefs on major doctrines of Scripture using Basic Theology by Charles Ryrie. 
  4. ​Read and produce one page summary briefs from the books listed on the Theology reading list. 

CHURCH

“I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power ​in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth." ​Romans 9:17 NLT

  1. Past (Church History). Produce one page summary papers on church history books listed on the Church reading list. 
  2. Present/Future (Church Formation). ​Produce one page summary papers on Church formation from the books listed on the Church reading list. 

HERMENEUTICS
​

Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 NLT

  1. Develop outlines from various passages of Scripture.
  2. Produce one page summary papers from recommended readings on the Hermeneutics reading list. ​

DISCIPLE MAKING

Make disciples of all nations. ​Matthew 28:19


  • Students will be shown how to make disciples on a local college campus.

Students will also have the opportunity to take part in several annual events.
