One Thing Studies (Personal devotions)
- Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe. I, the Lord, have spoken! Jeremiah 39:18
What a great picture of the gospel. Trust God and he will give life. This caused me to thank God for the eternal life he has given me since I first trusted him. How he rescued me and has kept me safe. I also reaffirmed my commitment to trust him so that I can continue to experience abundant life from Him. - Pray that the Lord your God will show us what to do and where to go. Jeremiah 42:2
I asked God for clarity and direction on a certain issue and now that I think back over the last week I can see that he supplied people and ideas that have helped shape and guide direction for that issue. He answered my prayer. - The Lord has told you: ‘Do not go to Egypt!’ Don’t forget this warning I have given you today. Jeremiah 42:19
The phrase, “Do not go to Egypt!” rocked me for several days. Egypt in this case was the easy way out. It was not trusting in God clear directive. I’ve been evaluating where I’ve been taking the easy way out and God clearly showed me one area. I’m so challenged by what he revealed.
Spiritual Conversations. (Personal witnessing)
- Conversation #1. Student on campus.
An Afghan refugee who seemed very interested in taking the spiritual survey but had to go before we got a chance to begin. He agreed to give me his number. I texted him a few times to try and set up a meeting but nothing has come from it so far. - Conversation #2. Student on campus.
A former football player who said he was very interested in meeting at the end of last semester. I was modeling the spiritual conversation for a disciple so he followed up at the beginning of the semester and they have continued to meet weekly on campus for Bible study throughout this semester. Praise the Lord!
